"Raising money for charity shouldn't be this much fun!" said ISI's Dave Shea, but that's exactly what was going on when Real Estate Volleyball Chicago held its first annual beach tournament on August 28. More than 250 players, sponsors and onlookers turned out for the event at Chicago's North Beach.
Dave was there networking—and enjoying the great beach vibe—on behalf of ISI, a corporate sponsor of REV Chicago's first go at raising some serious money to aid Chicagoland charities. Twenty-six teams competed. DePaul Real Estate Association fielded the winning team.
REV Chicago is a sport and social club for Chicagoland real estate professionals who want to "play volleyball, network and be active," according to the group's LinkedIn page. The not-for-profit organization plans to donate the net proceeds from its fundraising activities to area charities.
REV Chicago is combining fun and fitness to provide appealing environments for professional dialogue while attracting support for good works around Chicagoland. You can follow the group on Facebook as well as LinkedIn.
